More Feedback

We get dozens and dozens of letters and emails from you the audience after events. Here is a small selection of comments we have received :

"Thank you for the weekend - Swank had a great time. Joyous Jamboree was a pleasure to do in the Garden of Delights. The staff were fantastic very helpful and friendly Megan was marvellous. We got a lot of excellent feedback and a fair few cards [from programmers]so joy all round. Thanks for creating such a well run success."

"The young people loved performing ..they were buzzing about it."

Fantastic performance this evening. I would like to talk to you about capturing your events using stereoscopic photography. Will be in touch again. Congratulations again for a remarkable and quite soapy experience! (local freelance photographer)

" We had a super day on the Sunday, really good. Beer and Grub sensibly priced, loads to do, everyone involved really up for it even though it was the last day. Our highlights.1) Nakupelle- so simple yet so clever. We were transfixed along with all the kids. 2) Sambangra & Samsalamat. Knockout, could have watched / listened all day. The rugs on the floor adjacent to the arena was a nice touch. Overall, well organised, well thought out, well supported, thanks, roll on next year. The downsides. 1) I dont think there were enough bins; most people were trying to keep everywhere tidy but the bins were full.2) My wife said the Ladies Toilets were dreadful."

"Just a quick line to say I stumbled across the Garden of Delights festival yesterday afternoon on a visit to Platt Fields Park. I thought the event was fantastic, such a sense of community through every aspect of culture, music, theatre and arts. The atmosphere was great and it is fantastic that you have co-ordinated such a fantastic event. Unfortunate that I only discovered it on Sunday afternoon, otherwise I would loved to have spent more time seeing everything- there was so much going on! I will definately be looking out for it next year and recommending it to my friends."

"BIG CONGRATULATIONS on an absolutely lovely weekend. Such a joy to be involved with as a performer and as a punter with my family. Well done, it was truely a lovely experience. Thanks so much for all the vision, energy, effort & creativity you guys put into making these things happen - it makes manchester a very special place to be."

"Streets Ahead always gives me a lasting smile. The idea of the Greenwich dome makes me wince. I resent having to pay for it."
Manchester resident, in letter to the Millennium Commission about their failure to support Streets Ahead.

"We're so sorry to hear about the funding for the festival and hope it all goes better and if it doesn't you'll just have to blow up the millennium dome in a spectacular way!"

" I look forward to working with you again... I know you will take every opportunity to generate publicity and gain acknowledgement for the Airport's involvement with the event."
Dir. Arts Sponsorship, Manchester Airport

"I must congratulate you on both the quality and variety of events you organised for the festival which proved to be very successful indeed and I certainly hope we can look forward to a similar high standard of entertainment next year!"
Dir. Cultural Delegation, Embassy of France.

"MIA has exceptional expertise in both the organisation of street events and in artistic programming... MIA is the most advanced of a number of small scale festival promoters which have the potential to provide a number of excellent events throughout the year. The Committee notes the positive impacts the Streets Ahead festival (has) on local confidence and national and international perceptions of Manchester as well as the direct benefits to the City Centre economy."
Policy and Resources Committee, Manchester City Council.

"Thank you all very much for your work (on festival Fantastique). Not only was it brilliant (of course it was Fantastique) but the timing of all the events was perfect."
Granada TV

"The 'x.trax' weekend had some truly amazing street acts and gave our students a real insight into the world of street festivals which they otherwise would not have got without extensive travelling. They absolutely adored working on a professional stage with a professional sound engineer. It was particularly valuable for our students with Physical Disabilities from the Drake Project, who had a great time showing the audience that being in a wheel chair is not a barrier to being a rock musician!"
Principal, Manchester College of Arts and Technology (MANCAT)

"The regional link was ideal for us and the Leisure Departments for each area were also very helpful. I hope you are happy with the success of the festival, we had plenty of positive feedback about it and think the entire month was great in its diversity and accessibility."
