Between them, all these projects address the key aims that underpin our work.
These comprise:

1.
An abiding interest in supporting the development of visually and dramatically exciting outdoor shows of superior quality. We aim to present some of the best large scale shows from around the world, in Manchester. We shall also continue to commission and support local and regional artists to create work suitable for outdoor presentation.

2.
Promoting events with a high profile that show off Manchester as a vibrant energetic city to incoming visitors and kindle a sense of pride in residents. There are still people who think of Manchester as an industrial backwater...dirty mill town with soot, rain and loads of poor unemployed people - how far from the reality!

3.
Organising events that attract large numbers of people, who themselves form an integral part of the experience - and generate a genuine sense of warmth, inclusiveness and social cohesion. For this to be successful, we need to be sure that there is enough going on to keep people engaged and stimulated and that simultaneously caters for different ages.

4.
Planning events that are free or very cheap, to enable poor and disadvantaged communities to take part

5.
Offering opportunities in our projects for active participation by individuals and groups

6.
Designing meaningful events to mark particular events, times of year or create new traditions

We welcome partnership working with commercial bodies, local authorities, voluntary groups and organisations, catering and activities suppliers
