2009 saw us present our final edition of Feast - picnic by the lake in Platt Fields Park, Manchester, which also represents the last of our outdoor street arts events in Manchester for the forseeable future. See photos from Feast in our gallery and check out the Feast video footage on the Festivals08 YouTube channel.
In 2009 we launched Lakes Alive with our partners Kendal Arts International, which began in May with Reach for the Sky, a series of outdoor aerial performances in Bowness-on-Windermere, Whitehaven, Maryport, Carlisle and Penrith. This was followed by a new circus festival in Barrow in Furness in June, Zircus Plus and then whole summer season of Lakes Alive special events including an open air 'bal, Shall we dance? in Egremont, Dance Daze in Penrith, and an evening and afternoon of storytelling with Once Upon a Summer... in Keswick and Workington. A non stop season of activity that culminated at Mintfest - Kendal's exhilarating international festival of street arts and now one of the UK's leading international street arts festivals.
