We get dozens and dozens of letters and emails from you the audience after events. Here is a small selection of comments we have received :

“ ….a fantastic weekend at Platt Fields for “Garden Of Delights”. I went over on Sunday with my 2 year old god-daughter and some friends and we had a fantastic time. Weather was brilliant and some of the installations were just wonderful. I thought the giant pig was amazing, and the safari trail kept my god-daughter amused for hours after. …. “

“ Just wanted to say congratulations on the amazing Garden of Delights and how much I enjoyed the event. I have never seen such an incredible firework event, it surpassed the Disney World display .. and my kids thought so too!”

“Thanks so much for the festival at the weekend - I thought it was fantastic. Everyone I ran into on Saturday and Sunday was saying the same - that it was truly delightful.”

“ Seeing the park transformed in such a way was a delight and such a change from the boring dog walking and endless swans and ducks which you normally see!!”

“How fortunate that Manchester United did not reach the Champions League Final. How pleasant that our streets and the local economy should be graced by thousands of well behaved Italians rather than our own home-grown fans. I do hope some of our guests stayed behind after that dull match to enjoy the fantastic finale of Festival Europa in Platt Fields the following weekend. The Garden of Delights organised by those imaginative Streets Ahead people was blessed with Mediterranean weather. Such events bring back the public to public spaces - the Garden appealed to a wide range of Manchester's ethnic groups. I urge public and private funders to ensure that the Garden of Delights becomes a regular date in the city's cultural calendar as important and even more entertaining than the Lord Mayor's Parade.

“If I was to review last night’s Circus Ronaldo, there would be a picture of the performers and the title and the copy would be… WOW!

Never, since De La Guarda at the Roundhouse in London, have I ever seen something that just blew me away. It was a total theatre experience and I have to beg the question… “WHY CAN’T ALL THEATRE BE LIKE THIS?”

If everybody’s first experience of Live Performance was Circus Ronaldo, then there would be more theatres across the country full, less people sat in front of the TV and more children experiencing performance instead of sat in front of a games console!

You have to bring them back!! And this time for a longer run. Keep doing what you do best! I think Manchester should be proud to have MIA, I know I am.

We look forward to 'Future Gardens' - it was a brilliant event - full of wonderful moments - further thanks for the evening with Circus Ronaldo - we all (two adults and four young people) thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday evening out. My partner and I woke up on Sunday morning reflecting on the experience and within moments were aching with laughter - please may we have more!

Let me congratulate you on the recent Festa Catalana, it was excellent. My family and I came into town from Rochdale on the train and had a fantastic day. We particularly enjoyed the folk music and impromptu dancing of Sardanas in Cathedral gardens and for once the weather shone down on Manchester!

I don't usually do this kind of thing but want to congratulate somebody on the excellent exhibition in Albert Square yesterday (Le Phun, Thursday 31st July). The atmosphere was fantastic, I just strolled about the different displays and sat and watched. The smell in the air was unbelievable and the people were brilliant. So well done everybody and keep up the good work.

Congratulations to all involved in planning and delivering Manchester Live...

Who needs to venture away when Europe comes to us? Such splendid street theatre, Catalonian culture, markets and that surreal French Farm. Tres bien....

Relatives and friends of ours are increasing their visits and spending because of the rich variety of public entertainment the city offers on such a regular basis.

Less cars in the centre would make the place even more pleasant. I am pleased the Council is exploring Park and Ride schemes.

I look forward to In Town Without My Car Day on 22 September – à bicyclette!

I do hope we can anticipate Manchester Live 2004?

Firstly, let me say thank you for the chance to meet and talk with so many other giant organisations, particularly those we had not met before, and to take part in the Festa Catalana. Despite a few setbacks, it was a wonderful experience, and I am proud to have been asked to be part of this unique experience. Incidentally, the gathering broke all previously known records for the amount of giants in one parade in Britain - a total of 25 giants (not including ninnies or stick puppets), of which 15 were British - besting both the British/International and British Giant gathering records, which stood at 8 and 9 respectively.
