Funding

We have always funded our work with a mix of public and private money. This can be divided into core costs for the company overheads and project funds.

Core Costs:
Over the last 7 years, MIA has received core funding from - North West Arts Board, Manchester City Council, Central Grants, AGMA (Association of Metropolitan Authorities), 1996 - 2000, to enable the growth of Streets Ahead.

In 2001 we secured revenue funds for 3 years from the Baring Foundation.
From 2003/4 we receive uplifted funding from NWAB as part of the Theatre Review.

Project Costs:
Sources of money for projects vary enormously, depending on what work is proposed, who it is designed for, its geographical location, its dates, its content.

Public Money:
This has come from - Tourism sources, Regeneration (SRB, Social Inclusion etc) Cultural Sections of Foreign Governments (France, Spain, Holland, Germany, Belgium, Australia, Canada) educational organisations, The Arts Council, Charitable Trusts - Granada Foundation, Esmee Fairbairn Trust, the Lottery (Heritage Lottery, Awards for All)

Sponsorship:
Sponsorship describes a business relationship between MIA and a commercial organisation, in which MIA offers a clear markerting transaction in return for financial spend. Sponsor relationships are brokered carefully and uniquely, so that both sides see clear benefits. Sponsors may thereforebe interested in particular events, or associate themselves at key dates to suit their own priorities.

Over the last 7 years, we have involved a number of different sponsors; please click here for our sponsors and partners page.
